May 2026
A summary of everything new in laiout this month. New zone types, expanded 3D camera options, AI Render Select & Edit, furniture placement on outdoor spaces, and a new way to show or hide elements in the editor.
New features
Zones - Event Space
Event Space is now a native zone type with its own properties and constraints, ideal for planning auditoriums, town halls, and large gathering areas.
Zones - Pod Area (Booth)
Calling pods are now a proper zone type, separate from meeting rooms, with their own icon and colour. Reflects how modern offices actually use small private spaces.
3D Camera - Orthographic and Axonometric Views
New camera options in the 3D viewer for orthographic and axonometric projections, useful for technical presentations and architectural reviews.
3D Camera - 2-Point Perspective
Added 2-point perspective as a new camera setting in the 3D viewer for more architectural-style visualisations.
AI Renders - Select & Edit
Tweak a selected area of an AI Render to refine specific parts of the image without regenerating the entire render. Faster iteration on the details that matter.
Furniture - Balconies and Terraces
Place furniture on external balcony and terrace zones, previously only supported indoors. Opens up planning for outdoor workspaces and breakout areas.
Editor - Show or Hide Elements
Control exactly which elements are visible in the frontend, helping you focus on what matters for the task at hand.
Improvements
Partition Walls - Glass Representation
Glass partition walls now render more realistically in the app and in Revit exports, improving the visual quality of presentations.
Revit Export - 2024 to 2025 Upgrade
Added support for upgrading Revit files from 2024 to 2025 within the export pipeline.
Zones - Updated Icons
Zone kind icons have been refreshed throughout the interface for clearer recognition, including a new colour for Pod Area.
AI Renders is an optional add-on to your laiout subscription.
