April 2026
A summary of everything new in laiout this month. AI Renders expanded across the platform with new export options, major Revit and IFC export quality improvements, and updates to favourites, custom furniture upload, and dimensioning.
New features
AI Renders - PDF Exports
Photorealistic AI Renders can now be embedded directly in your PDF exports alongside the floor plan and stats, creating a single polished document to share with stakeholders.
AI Renders - Shared Links
AI Renders are now available within Shared Links, so external stakeholders can view the photorealistic visualisations without needing a laiout account.
AI Renders - Saved Prompts
Save your favourite render prompts and reuse them across projects and floor plans for consistency and speed.
AI Renders - Lock Style
Lock the visual style across multiple AI Renders to maintain consistent aesthetics throughout an entire project or portfolio.
AutoDimensions - Dynamic Dimension Lines
Dimension lines now adjust automatically when you move objects in the layout, removing the need to manually update them as you iterate.
Favourites - Info on Each Option
Each saved favourite now displays its own metadata, making it easier to compare options at a glance without opening them individually.
Custom Furniture - 2D Upload
Furniture upload now supports 2D files in addition to 3D, broadening what you can bring into your custom furniture library.
Client Branding - Colour Profiles
Define colour profiles per client and apply them automatically across all layouts and exports, ensuring brand consistency at portfolio scale.
Furniture and Doors - Manual Zone Assignment
Furniture and doors no longer get auto-assigned to zones the moment you place them, giving you more control over your workflow.
Improvements
Revit Export - Quality Improvements
Multiple improvements to Revit exports including the creation of Revit rooms and areas from zones, corrected door directions, and resolved wall expansion into corridors. The DA4R export pipeline quality has also been improved.
IFC Export - Quality Improvements
IFC exports now include missing metadata, property sets, and spatial relationships. Compatibility issues with ArchiCAD have been resolved.
DXF Cleaner - Unit Options
Expanded the unit options available when cleaning DXF files, giving you more flexibility for non-standard files.
Projects Page - Lazy Load Images
Project images on the projects page now load progressively as you scroll, dramatically reducing initial page load times for organisations with large portfolios.
User Roles - Member Permissions for Floor Settings
Team members can now edit floor settings directly, removing the need to escalate to an admin for routine changes.
Projects Page - GEA Display
GEA is now used consistently across the project page for clearer area reporting.
Interface - Component Library Refresh
A behind-the-scenes upgrade to our component library means small visual refinements across the entire app, including improved spacing in dropdowns, panels, and tables.
Floor Preferences - Window Responsiveness
The floor preferences panel now responds better to different screen sizes for easier editing.
