# Generating AI Videos

AI video renders turn your AI Renders into short videos, so you can bring a space to life in minutes rather than weeks.

<details>

<summary>How do I create an AI video render?</summary>

Open your design as you normally would, then go into AI Renders. Create a camera on the floor and position it where you want the shot, then save the camera location. Choose a preset, upload a start reference and an outside view if you want to, and generate your render. Once you are happy with it, switch from Image to Video in the AI Render panel, choose your source render, set the duration, aspect ratio and resolution, and click Generate video.

<details>

<summary>Do I need to create a still render first?</summary>

No. Every video starts from a camera on your floor plan, but you do not need to have created an AI render in laiout first. As long as you have a camera and have uploaded a style reference, you can create an AI video.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I refine my render before turning it into a video?</summary>

Yes. If part of a render looks bare, highlight that area with Select & Edit, describe what you want, for example adding your logo to a wall or food and drink onto a table, and click the tick to accept it. Generate again to update the render, then use the improved version as your video source. See [Refining Renders](/visualising-your-space/refining-renders.md) for the full Select & Edit workflow.

</details>

<details>

<summary>How long can my video be?</summary>

You can choose a duration from 5 seconds to 30 seconds, in 5 second steps. The default is 5 seconds, which is a good length for a first video.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Which aspect ratios can I choose?</summary>

You can choose Auto, 21:9, 16:9, 4:3 or 1:1. Auto is the default and matches the shape of your source render.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Which resolutions can I choose?</summary>

You can choose 480p, 720p or 1080p. The default is 720p.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I use more than one render in a video?</summary>

Yes. If you choose more than one source render, laiout creates one video that moves through all of the renders in order.

</details>

<details>

<summary>How long does a video take to generate?</summary>

Video renders take a few minutes to generate, and generation runs in the background. Once your video is ready, laiout shows it to you so you can review it.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Where do I find my videos?</summary>

Finished videos appear in the AI Render gallery, next to your still renders.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I download my videos?</summary>

Yes. Finished videos can be downloaded.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I delete or regenerate a video?</summary>

Yes. You can delete a video, or regenerate it.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I include videos in my Shared Links?</summary>

Yes. Videos use the same AI Renders toggle as your still renders. When you create or edit a Shared Link, you can choose which items are visible to the people you share it with. See [Shared Links](/sharing-and-exporting/shared-links.md) for more.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I control the camera movement in the video?</summary>

Not at the moment. laiout chooses the camera movement for you, based on your source render.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I edit a video after it has been generated?</summary>

No. Videos cannot be edited once they have been generated. To change a video, adjust your source render and generate a new one.
