Can I upload my own furniture?
Yes. The Custom Furniture Uploader lets you bring your own furniture into laiout. You can upload Revit (RFA) files, which the platform reads and adds to your furniture library alongside the built-in catalogue. Once uploaded, your custom furniture is available to place in any project. During upload, you set key attributes for each item including model name, brand, seating capacity, cost and carbon data. Your custom pieces then appear in the furniture drawer and are used in generated layouts, with accurate 2D and 3D representation.

Do I have to provide 3d model to upload furniture?
The Custom Furniture Uploader currently supports Revit (RFA) files, which include 3D geometry. When you upload an RFA file, the furniture is displayed in both 2D and 3D views and is included in 3D exports (Revit, IFC, OBJ). If you need to upload furniture that you only have in 2D format, contact the laiout team at [email protected] to discuss options.

What file formats are supported in furniture uploader?
The Custom Furniture Uploader currently supports Revit (RFA) files. This way the platform reads the geometry for both 2D and 3D representation. Support for additional file formats may be added in future updates.

How do I upload custom furniture?
Open the Furniture Catalog from the left panel and navigate to the company-uploaded section. Click the upload button and drag and drop your RFA file into the uploader. The platform reads the file and presents a preview. You then set the item attributes: model name, brand, seating capacity, cost and carbon data. Once saved, the furniture appears in your company library and is available across all projects in your organisation.

Can other team members use furniture I have uploaded?
Yes. Custom furniture uploaded to your organisation is available to all users in your account. Once you upload an item, any team member with access can find it in the company-uploaded section of the Furniture Catalog and place it in their projects.

Can I edit the attributes of uploaded furniture after saving?
Yes. You can update the name, brand, cost, carbon data and other attributes of uploaded furniture items from the Furniture Catalog. Changes apply across all future placements.

Does custom furniture appear in exports?
Yes. Custom furniture uploaded as RFA files appears in all export formats: 2D in CAD/DXF and PDF exports, and 3D in Revit, IFC and OBJ exports. The original RFA families you uploaded are used in the Revit export, preserving your specifications.
